    Q. What are the requirements to become an FHSAA Official?
    A. The requirements are as follows:

    • Be 18 years of age or older. Note that if you are either 16 or 17 years old, you can still join our Student Officials Program.
    • Submit to the FHSAA Office a valid application for registration (available online)
    • Pay appropriate non-refundable registration fees
    • Join and maintain membership in a local officials association (must declare local officials association at time of registration)
    • Certify that you have never been arrested for or convicted of a felony. Note: If you have been convicted of a felony, you must explain and provide the FHSAA with documentation on the conclusion of the incident.  You may still be able to officiate, if given permission by the FHSAA.
    • Successfully pass the mandatory Level 2 Background Screening (to be compliant with the Jessica Lunsford Act.)
